A life map of a gentleman who became an expert in oil pollution after the Torrey Canyon disaster. He also was involved with the Princes Trust and had a fascinating family history with Newmarket racing horse trainers.
A pretty special commission, from David Gilmour and Polly Samson, this was their wedding present to Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera. It included many favourite things and views, great memories of sneaking around his house with David and Polly!

Illustrated Maps

I was first commissioned to design and paint an illustrated map in 1994. This was for David Gilmour when he wed author Polly Samson. Following this, I have worked on many maps, some have been more traditional 'estate map' in style, some have been 'life maps' or 'career maps' and some for weddings or retirements. The stories which unravel during the process of detail gathering have been fascinating and at times, emotional. One of my 'life maps' was recently on display at the funeral of a former dear client. It was heart warming to see close friends and family gather round the easel and point out places they had stayed and enjoyed such happy times.
